Reading the data…
How to read these
Support & resistance are swing pivots — prices where the tape actually turned — grouped when they sit within ~1.2% of each other. The touch count matters: a level tagged 4 times has far more resting interest than one tagged once.
Breakout triggers take the 30-day range and add a quarter of ATR beyond the edge. The buffer exists because price routinely pokes a range boundary and fails; requiring a push past normal daily noise filters some of that.
Pivot points (P, S1–S2, R1–R2) come from the prior day's high, low and close: P = (H+L+C)/3. Floor traders used the same arithmetic before screens existed, and enough desks still watch them that they stay reactive.
Daily Fibonacci levels divide the prior day's high–low range at the classic ratios (23.6, 38.2, 50, 61.8, 78.6%). Retracements into the 38.2–61.8% zone are the textbook "healthy pullback" area; like pivots, the levels matter mostly because many participants watch the same lines.
Moving averages smooth price into trend. Price above a rising 200-day is the textbook uptrend; the averages act as dynamic support/resistance largely because so many participants watch the same lines.
RSI measures the speed of recent gains vs losses (above 70 conventionally "overbought", below 30 "oversold"). ATR is average daily range — useful for sizing how far is "normal" before a move means anything.
Why levels "work": largely self-fulfilling attention. Enough orders cluster at widely-watched prices that price often reacts there — until it doesn't. Treat every level as a reference, never a guarantee.
How these are computed.Daily Hyperliquid candles. Levels are fractal swing pivots clustered by proximity; breakout triggers are the 30-day range ± a quarter of ATR; daily Fibonacci retracements are drawn on the prior day's high–low range. These are mechanical calculations on public price data, not signals, predictions, or financial advice. Levels break and fail often. Trading perpetual futures involves substantial risk of total loss. You are solely responsible for your own decisions.
Why Tape · verify, don't trust
Read the data first. Then route the order.
The native Hyperliquid UI is great for executing. Tape is the screen you watch before and after — every perp's funding and crowding, where the top wallets sit, what the whales just did, and a live read on any wallet. All free, all public data, and every claim checkable on the Hyperliquid L1.
Nothing to connect
No wallet, no signup, no keys. Tape reads public Hyperliquid data only — your funds and keys never come near this site.
Sub-second data
Direct WebSocket subscriptions to the Hyperliquid order book. Same latency profile as a market-maker dashboard — including during liquidation cascades.
Every perp market
Full Hyperliquid coverage including HIP-3 gold, oil, and tokenized-stock perps, plus HIP-4 prediction markets as they list.
Auditable numbers
Every stat traces to public on-chain Hyperliquid data. Any fill, funding print, or wallet metric can be replayed against the L1. No black-box feeds.
Fee cap, on-chain
The analytics are free. When the Tape wallet ships, its max builder fee (2 bps) is set by one signed approval enforced by the Hyperliquid L1 — you read it before you sign.
No token, no points
Nothing to farm. The optional paid layers — Tape Pro and the agent API — are priced in plain dollars on the pricing page.
Tape's live analytics are an MCP server and a pay-per-call x402 API — an agent (Claude, your own bot) pulls live signals, whale flow, market pulse, the leaderboard, and AI wallet reads for a few cents of USDC. No account, no API key, non-custodial end to end.
MCP
Model Context Protocol
Point any MCP client at https://tapeperp.com/mcp. Tools: market signals, market pulse, whale prints, markets radar, wallet analysis, and the top-trader leaderboard — all read-only, all live. Pro unlocks higher limits.
x402

Agents discover Tape's metered endpoints in the x402 Bazaar (/api/x402), pay a few cents of USDC, and get a live read — wallet AI or signals — with no signup. Endpoints →
Free to use. Pro for power users. An API for agents.
All of Tape's analytics are free, with no signup and nothing to connect. Two optional paid layers add depth — for humans and for machines. No token, no points.

Tape is analytics-only · non-custodial · it never places trades, routes orders, or holds keys or funds. Informational only, not financial advice.
HIP-3 markets — beyond crypto
Gold. Oil. Equities. Same order book discipline.
Hyperliquid's builder-deployed markets put commodities, FX, and tokenized stocks on the same on-chain CLOB. Tape gives them first-class treatment — dedicated pages, funding history, and depth, not a generic dropdown.
You've watched the whole market on Tape. The plan is to let you trade it from the same screen. The Tape Wallet will bring non-custodial Hyperliquid execution into the terminal you already read — it is not released yet, and the waitlist below is how you'll hear first.

Development notice. The Tape Wallet is not released and not available to download or use. It is planned software described here in advance; features may change, ship in stages, or be cancelled. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee access. Tape today is analytics-only and never holds keys or funds. Nothing here is financial advice; trading perpetual futures is high-risk and can cause total loss. Availability may be limited by jurisdiction.
FAQ
Asked constantly.
Why use Tape if I already use Hyperliquid?
Tape is a pure analytics layer on top of Hyperliquid's public data — markets radar, top-wallet positioning, a top-trader leaderboard, wallet analytics with AI, and live signals, all in one screen. It does not place trades; you execute wherever you already do. It's the research terminal, not another exchange.
What exactly can Tape charge me?
Nothing, unless you opt in. The analytics surfaces are free to view with no signup; power extras (unlimited watchlists, alerts, history, exports) are Tape Pro. The optional paid layers are Tape Pro (alerts, history, exports) and the pay-per-call x402 API for agents. When the Tape wallet ships, trading through it will carry a builder fee capped at 2 bps by a one-time signed approval enforced by the Hyperliquid L1 — you'll see the exact cap before you sign anything.
Do you ever hold my funds or keys?
Never. Tape is analytics-only — there is no wallet connection at all. Your funds sit in your own Hyperliquid account on the L1; we have no API keys, no withdrawal rights, and no order history beyond what's public on-chain.
Is there a points program or token?
No, and we're not teasing one. There is no token and no points. The paid tiers are priced in plain dollars; if incentive programs ever launch alongside the Tape wallet, they will be announced plainly — not farmed.
Does Tape place trades or hold funds?
The core product is analytics-only and fully non-custodial — it reads public Hyperliquid data and never holds keys or funds. Separately, Tape runs a limited, invite-only Tape Wallet pilot that adds non-custodial execution inside the terminal; even there, your own wallet signs every order and Tape never takes custody. The pilot is early test software — see its disclaimer.
Is it live?
Yes — every analytics surface is live now: the read-only terminal, markets radar, live signals, leaderboard, and wallet analytics, all from the Hyperliquid API. No wallet or signup needed. Tape does not place trades.
